Case study 2: Enhancing Careers Beyond the Project

The Environmental Sustainability team wanted to better develop and secure the skills and careers of all members, not just their Project Investigator. To give everyone the best chance of enhancing their careers through and beyond the short term research project, each member of the project was assigned a budget for personal training and development. At the outset of the project, the project manager and PI met with everyone to discuss and plan for their training needs and to signpost to available employability resources such as Prosper, which provides tailored career advice for Early Career Researchers. They also set a midpoint date for a check-in to review those needs and to discuss employment beyond the role.
